Accessibility statement

UK House Prices aims to make official sold-price data usable by everyone who needs it — home buyers, sellers, agents and researchers — including visitors who use a keyboard, a screen reader or a magnifier.

Conformance status

Partially conformant. UK House Prices aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We have not completed a formal external audit, and some of the dense data tables and map views still need manual screen-reader testing. This page states that plainly instead of claiming full conformance.

What is implemented

  • Semantic landmarks, one main heading per page and a skip link to the content.
  • Search, filters and table sorting are reachable and usable with the keyboard, with visible focus states.
  • Body-text contrast target of at least 4.5:1 and layouts that reflow on small screens.
  • Data tables use header cells so screen readers can announce row and column context.
  • Key figures are also written as text next to charts and summaries.

Known limitations

  • Some wide sold-price and comparison tables on narrow screens need zooming rather than perfect reflow.
  • The interactive map is partially usable with a keyboard; the spatial data behind each area is also available as a table or text list.
  • When a filter updates a result list, the change is not always announced through a live region.
  • Third-party scripts (analytics) are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

How we test

Keyboard-only passes on search, area guides and the sold-price tables; 200% zoom and narrow-viewport checks; manual screen-reader spot checks. We do not yet have automated accessibility regression coverage.
