What planning applications does this tool show?

We show planning applications from ~400 local planning authorities across England, Scotland and Wales, aggregated by UK PlanIt. Results cover the last 90 days and include applications of all types: full planning, extensions, listed buildings, trees, telecoms and more.

How up to date is the planning application data?

Data is cached for 24 hours and sourced live from planit.org.uk, which aggregates council planning portals. There may be a delay of a few days between a council publishing an application and it appearing here.

What do the application statuses mean?

Pending means no decision has been made yet. Approved means permission was granted. Approved with conditions means permission was granted subject to conditions. Refused means the application was turned down. Withdrawn means the applicant withdrew before a decision.

What is a major planning application?

Large applications typically involve major or large-scale developments such as new housing estates, commercial buildings or infrastructure. Medium applications cover multiple dwellings. Small applications cover individual houses, extensions and other minor works.
